Format: 1 minute prepared pitch, Pitch your business, passion, purpose - you name it! 40 Speakers compete in 4 heats of 10. Top speaker from each heat moves forward to the Impromptu Round where you will draw a topic to pitch. The top two Contestants as chosen by our judges will be coached live by Codi Shewan and face off in the final round, a 2 minute pitch for the chance to win $500!

ShazamFest is Québec's most unique summer festival. With the introduction of a wide variety of musical talents and stage acts, including circus-based performances, ShazamFest has created a unique and special experience for the whole family. Workshops on forging and circus arts, extreme sport displays of skateboarding and wrestling give ShazamFest a distinctive flavor. CMETrust, Ottawa chapter, is having its annual vernissage of photos, Mathare in Focus, on November 12, 2014, at Pressed Cafe (750 Gladstone Avenue). Besides the scholars’ thoughtful artwork, the event will feature spoken word entertainment from wordsmith extraordinaire, Ritallin, refreshments, music, food, and more interesting, cool people meeting together in one room than you can possibly imagine. Funds raised at the event will contribute directly to secondary school scholarships for students from Mathare.
Tickets can be purchased at the door - $15 for general admission and a limited number of student tickets for $10. They can also be purchased online.
Everyone who participates in this fun-filled two-day festival will leave with a better understanding of the important role Oakville and Halton played in the historical transition from slavery to freedom.
